Sign-Up/Registration Forms for Upcoming Events/ActivitiesHot Topics - January 8th - Christianity and Other Religions!Come find out about Christianity and other religions - why? Part of standing firm in the truth is 1) knowing the truth and 2) being able to share the truth with others - it may be helpful to know more about what some others believe in order to present your case effectively.
As you can see from the handout/sign-up form some of the "hot" topics are very sensitive and mature. All youth are welcome, but parents need to realize that conversations will be mature in nature. Not graphic, just understand that your child may or may not be ready for a serious topic such as these. We will be talking about the issues and what the Bible says about each one, as well as have interactive and informative discussions on how to deal with the situations as our youth are faced with them. The thought behind the series is that our children (whether we want to admit it not) are getting information regarding these topics from school, friends, TV. What I hope is that our youth will come to these sessions and learn TRUTH about each topic, in order to help prepare them for what the world throws at them. Wouldn't we rather our children learn the right information from us as parents and from church so they are better prepared to face the issues out in the world? We’ll just hang out immediately after church, have a simple lunch, and discuss the topics in a very casual atmosphere.
Parent Action Needed: Please RSVP using the sign-up form so that I know you’re ok for your youth to participate and so we’ll know how much food to plan for lunch.

Beyond The Gates Of Splendor/End Of The Spear – January 21, 8:30 am – 9 pm
In 1956 five US Missionaries in a remote area of the Amazon are speared to death. The story of their journey to the Amazon, their work there, the tragic deaths, and the response after their death is a powerful tale you won't want to miss! This real-life event changed many lives forever and brought a savage people into the light. We will learn about following God's plan for your life, faith, hope, forgiveness, redemption, and much more. Ever told a little "white" lie, something that's small and insignificant so you won't get in trouble??? We'll see in this story how a little lie can have huge, life-changing ripple effects and how God can work through any situation for good if we allow Him to take control.
Lesson Titles are:
A Vision of Hope
Sharing the Gospel
God Equips the Called
Breaking the Cycle
Jumping the Great Boa
Was It Worth It?
True Family
Where It Ends
Make plans to attend this Bible study that may just change YOUR life and how you see others. Students are welcome to invite friends! As always, permission forms and Youth Guidelines are needed if one is not already on file. See link to form below.
Permission Forms
Several parents have asked if they could fill out ONE permission form for ALL VHBC Youth Activities. I say that’s fine with me – you’ll just have to resubmit a form anytime your information may change (such as health insurance, contact info, etc.) It will simplify things – for both of us.
Youth Guidelines
If you have not already turned in your signed youth guidelines, please do so ASAP.
*******
Any youth (or friends of youth) participating in youth events will need a signed permission slip AND signed youth guidelines on file. If you are unsure if you have one on file, bring one just to be safe! :) Parents may sign ONE permission slip that allows youth to participate in ANY VHBC youth events and/or activities, simply state that on the line for activity. You can drop the permission or guideline forms in the box outside the Youth Office or give them to Laurissa.
