I was born and raised in a Christian home in Huntsville, Alabama. As the oldest of six children, you might say that working with kids came naturally for me. At the age of 8, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior and was baptized. In middle school, I had the opportunity to participate in several mission projects around the city, and I knew that God was calling me to some sort of ministry. In high school, I participated in several national and international mission trips with my church. Every time that I traveled and saw the spiritual hunger overseas, my burden for churches in the USA increased.
Upon graduating from high school in 2006, I joined the staff of Life Action Revival Ministries Road Teams. During the four years I traveled with them, I was responsible for teaching Biblical principles through songs, drama, games, and stories to second through fifth-grade children. While I was with this ministry, God opened my eyes to the need for children's ministries in the churches of America.
From 2010 to 2013, I attended North Greenville University (NGU) in Tigerville, South Carolina, where I majored in Christian Studies and Education. I learned how to teach and study the Bible in a way that children could understand. While attending college, I worked as an intern in the Children's Ministry Department at Taylors First Baptist Church, where I organized and administered supplies and volunteers for weekly activities and large-scale events. I graduated from NGU in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
In March 2014, I was called to join the staff at Villa Heights Baptist Church and moved from Alabama to Virginia. I desire to serve the body of Christ through the work of Villa Heights by leading in the area of Children's Ministry. My vision is to equip families to seek the Lord together and to instill in children a love for God's word and a desire to follow Christ. I enjoy working alongside many talented, giving, and loving followers of Christ in the multiple ministries offered to children and families.
Matthew 19:14 “But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
