The Music and Dramatic Arts Ministry exist to provide the people of Villa Heights a way to express their love for God.  We use various types of music and drama to develop gifts and abilities in our people as well as provide the opportunity to glorify and proclaim Jesus Christ.  We believe that these areas are an important part of the church's total ministry and that they are not only a tremendous tool for worship and outreach but also allow for personal development.

Music
People of all ages, from young children through senior adults, are encouraged to participate in choral and (as God provides!) instrumental groups.  Whether it is young boys and girls learning about their place in God's world, or youth and adults serving as worship leaders, there is an opportunity for all through the music ministry.

We seek to inspire and lead in worshipping our Lord. There are currently four choirs that meet weekly:

  • Adult Choir - Wednesdays, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Choir Room
  • Youth Choir / Drama - Sundays, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm during the school year, Choir Room, grades 6+
  • Children's Choir- Sundays, 6:00 to 7:00 pm during the school year, upstairs, old Choir Room, grades 1-5. 
  • Preschool Choir- Sundays, 6:00 to 7:00 pm during the school year, downstairs, 4's Sunday School room, ages 3-K

We are also seeking Godly instrumentalists to assist with our contemporary music selections. Guitars (electric and acoustic), Bass, Drums, percussion.... If God has given you a desire to use the talents He's given you, let us know and we'll work toward including your instrument in our weekly Worship and Praise time!

Drama
Using skits, plays, musicals and other drama sources, we will present the gospel in a variety of ways to hone people's relationship with God.  Recently we have shared "Experiencing God, the Musical" and "Jesus, Wonderful Treasure" to help people have a greater understanding about the relationship that He wants for us through Jesus. 

There are many purposes for the Music and Dramatic Arts Ministry.  Some of our most important ones are listed below:

  • to glorify God to encourage and edify the church to present the message of salvation to serve as a companion to the ministry of the preaching of God's Word
  • to develop our skills 

A/V - Technical

We are currently expanding the technical teams that are involved in the support of our Worship ministries. If you have an interest or ability in audio, video, recording or web development, please let us know and we'll find a place to use your talents and abilities!
